Which time zone and countdown does the schedule use?
Dates and kick-off times use UK time, including daylight saving. Countdown badges appear within three days of the supplied kick-off. Reaching zero does not confirm that play has started; match status comes from the source.

Understanding football results
Follow a competition or scan the day
Use the competition filter when you want one league or cup. The grouped view keeps its matches together; the chronological view is useful when following several competitions. Kick-off times are displayed in UK time and the date selector follows the same timezone.
Coverage depends on the connected account. An empty competition or date is not a complete statement about the football calendar. The current connection status explains whether records are unavailable or the latest collection has succeeded.
Read the score and the status together
The first team is the designated home side and the second is the designated away side, including fixtures at neutral grounds. A blank score before kick-off is different from a match that has finished 0–0. Missing values stay blank rather than being converted to goals.
Finished, half-time, suspended and postponed describe different states. If a match is interrupted, the score when play stopped does not on its own establish the final outcome. Open the match record to read the status alongside the collected information.
Extra time, penalties and the complete outcome
Knockout matches can require more explanation than a single score. Regulation time, extra-time goals and a penalty shoot-out are separate parts of a record. The competition’s rules determine which deciding procedure applies.
Our match display keeps shoot-out kicks separate from the goals scored during play. When the provider supplies half-time, regulation-time or extra-time components, the detailed view labels them individually. We do not infer missing statistics or a tie aggregate from a single fixture.
Know the limits of a score service
A result says how many goals were recorded; it does not describe possession, chances or the quality of a performance. Lineups, event timelines and league tables need additional data. We do not reconstruct them from a scoreline or advertise them as available when the feed does not supply them.
The free football feed is delayed. A fresh collection timestamp tells you that the server received data, not that the information arrived at the instant a goal was scored. If collection is interrupted, the last-known records remain visible with a warning.
Find the information you need
| Your question | Check this | Avoid this assumption |
|---|---|---|
| Has the match started? | The fixture status and kick-off time. | A displayed 0–0 always means play is underway. |
| Is this the final result? | Finished status and score duration. | Two hours after kick-off must mean full time. |
| Who won on penalties? | The separate shoot-out line. | Adding shoot-out kicks to match goals. |
| What was the half-time score? | The labelled half-time field. | Deriving it from the final score. |
| How current is the score? | Feed mode and collection timestamp. | A refreshed page means an instant feed. |

Results and coverage questions
How to interpret the information you see, and what to check when a record is missing.
Read the coverage guideHow fast are the results?+
Speed depends on the connected provider and account plan. Football snapshots are collected every minute. Racing collection runs every three minutes, but that schedule does not guarantee that a finish is available immediately. Read the feed-mode label and collection time together.
Does a received result mean it is official?+
No. Collection confirms that a provider record arrived. It does not, on its own, confirm an official sporting verdict. We preserve the supplied status and make missing confirmation clear.
How far back does the archive go?+
The archive includes collected results and selected historical records added later. Coverage varies by sport, competition and date; it is not a complete historical database. Use the archive calendar to see dates with stored records.
Can I follow a result without an account?+
Yes. Use the heart control on an event to save its link in this browser. Browser saves stay on this device. You can also sign in to save events to your account.
